Adventures in Potty Learning...

At 10:30 at night when I am laying in bed I find myself thinking about all the things I could write here, I tell myself that at nap time I will write, but the days pass by and I don't write.

Tonight I vowed to myself that I would sit down and write something. 

Thursday night Pea decided she wanted to wear panties, like Mummy and her doll, I put her in a diaper cover from an old dress that is too small for her and she was thrilled. I was in the bathroom and she came in and was struggling to get her panties off. I asked her if she needed to pee and she said "YES!!!" I pulled down the panties and put her on the toilet and low and behold she peed!!! Now I am really not big on praising BUT this was a huge moment, Daddy and I were trying to contain ourselves from jumping up and down as we were congratulating her on her big moment. She was beaming with delight, and was thrilled with all the steps to using the toilet like a big girl. That night she went 3 times in the toilet. 

Friday Pea woke up on the wrong side of the bed, we had an off day and she wore a diaper all day. Saturday she woke up and demanded to have her diaper off, we took it off and off it stayed for the whole day (other than the one she wore for a nap and one to bed) , 15 pees on the toilet and NO misses!!! Sunday was another good day, we went out and bought her some new panties and a small toilet seat to fit on top of ours so she could sit comfortably. Monday was a smooth day with no misses. 

Today we had another good day, we only had one miss and she managed to stop herself  and finish in the toilet. Also, she stopped nursing before falling asleep for her nap to take off her diaper and pee again. She told me every time she needed to go and is so proud of herself. 

I had no idea this would happen so soon, she is growing up so fast and I find it so bittersweet. I am however NOT sad that I will not be washing diapers soon, it's not a particularly bad job it's just another chore that I can write off the list. Also, I fully realize that she could regress and go back into diapers which would totally be ok with me. I am leaving the ball in her court and letting her decide, I have faith and trust that she will get there on her own terms.
