Love and Gratitude...

It's late and time for me to join Pea in bed but I just didn't want to forget this little moment we had tonight.

It was a long day of no nap and Pea has been pretty needy for me lately, I was burnt out and it was already 9 pm with no sign of bed time in the near future. I was trying to tell Pea that it was ok if Daddy read a book to her now that Mama was done reading 3. As soon as I handed the book to Daddy Pea dissolved into a mess of tears, I took a deep breath and explained to Pea that mummy was tired and needed a break of reading, still tears, ok that didn't do it, so I tried again and told Pea that Daddy was really good at reading books and he really wanted a chance to read to her. She stopped crying for a second and looked at me with these wide eyes, I asked her again if Daddy could read, she said "No, Mama" so I tell her that Daddy really wants to have a turn to read and after Daddy gets his turn Mama will read Goodnight Moon to her again. She contemplates this for a second and then says "Yes, Mama. Thank you Mama" then she gave me the biggest hug and kiss ever and settled down with Daddy to read a book. After Daddy was done she was eager to read Goodnight Moon and when we were done she said "Thank you Mama", and went back to read with Daddy.

I love her, and I love moments like that when your heart unexpectedly overfills with love and joy. Especially when they come out of nowhere on long teething days.

I leave you with a picture of Pea kissing her two best friends Baby-o (the name of her doll) and Ted (her beloved first Teddy Bear).
